Cali Sandwich in Houston

Good fast Vietnamese food. The inside of the place is nicely decorated, an upgrade from a standard Vietnamese fast food restaurant. The beef pho is probably a solid 3 as the flavor of the broth is not quite deep as some of the others. The meat, slices type, is bit tough not sure if it is inherent of the meat or the way it is cooked. Rice plates are good. Very flavorful chicken pork or beef. Again be watchful of tougher cuts. The menu is not helpful as it does not list out what cut of the meat is used. So if you don’t eat certain cuts, such as tripe, tendon, pig hock, ask before you order. Happy eating.

One of my best pho places, they have the best Vietnamese chicken sandwiches! I have gone to many places even fancy ones and nothing tops this one! PLUS it’s so cheap and so good! So if you are around midtown Houston come check it out!

The sesame chicken is a good dish! The chicken is good, and the sauce is delicious. It comes with rice and broccoli; it's a very good lunch plate!

I love the food. Sandwiches are not that good but the plates are amazing. The coffee is the best and it has a good customer service

Had a wonderful lunch. I ended up ordering the #10 on menu with small wonton soup and then ordered a Mango smoothie to go. Smoothie was DELICIOUS. I'm giving four stars for now. I would like to sample more menu items and their smoothies before I give my final rating. Also, dining area was nice and clean and service was good. Until next time...

Love the food here it is amazing, have not been disappointed by anything and I want everyone I know to eat here. Please know if you order on the phone really know what you want as you may feel rushed but I can understand why that phone does not seem to stop ringing if you stop in.

The food was good, I'll go back, but the place is messy, like a hoarder works there or at least has influence. Messy doesn't give much confidence in clean. But food was good.

Hands-down the best bánh mì in Houston. NO other establishment compares to the quality and taste that of Cali's! So, so good!! Their spring rolls are pretty damn good too!

Nice hole in the wall sort of place! The title at the time was Cali Sandwich & Fast Food on Google which didn't really make any sense considering there was not fast food options and the menu said "Cali Sandwich & Pho" so I promptly suggested and edit 😂. The bowl if Pho I got was pretty darn delicious 😋. My wife got a $3 sandwich which she said was nice but at tab bit too crunchy for her taste. This place is not too shabby, tons of Asian cuisine options. Not high class by any means. The place was a tad bit dirty which dampened the atmosphere quite a bit. Definitely worth was we paid for.

Quick, tasty, cheap authentic Viet comfort food. My favorites here include bun rieu, com tam bi thit nuong, and banh mi. Service is quick, polite. The young owner is welcoming and knows how to delegate staff. Can get very busy during lunch time but service is quick and table availablility is ever-revolving.

This place here is a gem. The sticky rice with chicken and the phos are very delicious. Just please remember to get soy sauce which is homemade! There is something beautiful when people come together and support one another, that's what it's all about. I support this business because they've always treated me with respect and I've never had an issue here. Cheers.

Best place to eat vietnamese food and sandwiches, highly recommended. I'd just spent $145 for for 18 people not bad at all very reasonable price too

Great sandwiches, eggrolls were awesome and the vietnamese coffee was fantastic! Small cafe, but very polite staff. The food is all made to order and was very fresh. Definitely will be back.

I came here for the banh mi and was very pleased. Definitely one of the best combination(dac biet) subs I've ever had. Nice warm crunch from the baguette and a near perfect meat to bun to veggie ratio. They did not skimp on the pate either. Very reasonably priced as well st just 3.99 each, tax included. Will definitely be returning for more.

Authentic Vietnamese restaurant! Great food and great price. I love their Banh Mi sandwiches 😋. Their smoothies are also very good and very fresh! I always find myself there when I'm in the area, definitely a favorite place to go for some good Vietnamese food.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. It was nice and clean inside. Wide selection of food. The food was delicious. Good price for the amount of food you get. We will definitely come back!

Pretty tasty, authentic, good service, and extensive menu. Pho Tai was yummy just wish it had a little more beef. Egg rolls were perfection. Won ton mein was good, too; our kids enjoyed it. We have yet to try the banh mi ordered to go

Walk in here like you own the place. Tell the waiter you don't need a menu, you want the Singapore Noodles. It's not a menu item but they will make it for you. Unbelievablely delicious... Don't be afraid to ask for it extra spicy. Try it and see.

Food is yummy. I've liked everything I've tried but my current obsession is #33 with fried rice. Yum!!

Friends of mine took me to lunch here and I've loved it ever since! Never have to wait long for appetizers or entrees 💕 the food is always delicious and the place is awesomely clean!! I'd recommend their great food and service any day!

My favorite place for Vietnamese food. I've been going for over 15 years now and the food is consistently delicious. Pho and Bahn mi are my go to's here but the rest of the menu is equally as flavorful. The mom that owns is one the sweetest people you'll ever meet!

I really liked Cali sandwich shop. I got a banh mi and some eggrolls, which were really good! My friend is vegetarian and they gave great options for veg food. It's pretty inexpensive and is definitely worth checking out.

Tofu spring rolls are the best I've tried

Didn't get a chance to experience a great amount of food. Was there on a 30 min lunch break, advice to call ahead. Bahn Mi is a little on the small side, but the meat and fillings were tasty. Thai tea was good, prefer a little stronger, boba was great.

First time having Bahn Mi and it was delicious. Their Thai tea and mangos they sell are also delicious!

Their Banh mi is so good. Always get 29 pho and 84 banhmi.

A classic. My brothers and my cousins love this place. Thankful to have been introduced to it by family. The egg rolls and spring rolls of all sorts are supreme. The Bahn Mi of all sorts they serve are also outstanding. Glad to have been introduced this gem in Midtown-Houston. My relatives, siblings and myself love it

Probably the best Vietnamese spot in Houston. I dream about their egg rolls.

Used to go EVERY DAY before I moved to Katy, literally every day and would even show up on sundays forgetting they were closed. Absolute best Vietnamese food I’ve ever eaten (and I am obsessed with trying new Vietnamese places, trust me, this place is the best). Try #73 and you’ll never regret it, it’s salted and toasted tofu, battered and fried tofu with onions and bell peppers. S O O O O O delicious and they have the BEST soy sauce. The tofu spring rolls are also to die for!

Superb restaurant! Food is phenomenal for the price paid, service is attentive, & the ambiance is welcoming. Definitely dinning here again & recommend trying it out. I personally suggest trying the combination pho accompanied with the Chinese sausage & sticky rice.

Home of the half full to-go coffee. When I pointed this out the guy explained that the $3.24 was for a “small” coffee and he’d have to charge me again to fill the cup. Way to nickel and dime customers. The sandwich was good but I’ll just go next door to Simply Pho next time.

Great Vietnamese food in this location and at great value. My favorite is the Cornish hen which comes with rice and an egg. Make sure to pair it with a side of Vietnamese Coffee.
